Default 5th gen SS badges on a 4th gen

I was thinking about putting 2010-11 SS badges on my 4th gen camaro. I had the idea a few days ago... I would love to see pics because I'm sure someone has already done this. I'm just not sure how it will look.
I have a black z28 that I'm putting an ss hood/spoiler on and kind of want something different then the stock z28 badge.

I haven't thought about putting the SS emblems but I have thought about using the word Camaro like there fender emblems on my '99 since the font is close to the same between the two. To me, having say a '69 emblem on the fenders looks out of place since you would have two different fonts on the car.

yeah that is a good idea too. Maybe there aren't that many people who have done this... hmmm interesting....
I think I might buy some on ebay to hold up to the car... if it looks crappy then I'll just stick 'em to something else.... SS toolbox anyone? haha

I think that's an awesome idea! The emblems might be a little smaller than stock 4th gen SS emblems though.

I actually went to a dealership near my area and they wanted like $30-$40 for two sets of the word "Camaro" emblems for the side which isn't that bad actually for something to come from a dealership IMHO. I have no idea what the SS emblems would run though. But its been a year since I asked them about the emblems so they may have went up/stayed the same/or went down.

You should look into getting them on. Emblem pros also sells the 2010 SS badges.

I saw that you have a Z28. Contact emblem pros and see if they can make a custom set for you in the 5th gen style.

They would look much better than the stock SS badges IMO, and definitely "pop" more than the boring z28 4th gen badges.

Although if your car is a z/28 why not get better looking z/28 emblems?

these are a mix of the badges off of a cobalt and a malibu.

the camaro ss badges are really too small for the right look imo.

these have vinyl inserts in them, stock ones are white in the middle.

Keep them on the appropriate generation they were designed for.

I'm suprised no one has come in here to talk down on the idea of making a clone.

On the main topic though, wait a year for the new Z28 to come out and buy those badges

Look identical to the badges that were on my TBSS... just took a set of black vinyl inlays to the stockers.

I do agree they're among the best looking SS badges from any of the GM designs. I was not really a fan of the ones on my Silverado SS

ssjason232, that is exactly what I want to do. It looks awesome!! I did measurements and the new camaro ss emblems are too small. Might try to find some cobalt or tb ones. I want the black inserts too since I'm blacking out my car.
Thanks for the replies guys.
