broke down and finally did it after trying meguires, mothers, zymol and 3m (along with others) Finlly ordered Zaino, Out of all the others I tried 3m was the best by far, Meguires just plain sucks. Hope Zaino produces the results Im looking for. How long from time you mail in your order does it take to get your wax?
Re: broke down and finally did it Takes about a week but well worth the wait. Remember to take some claybar and get all that other junk off your car first. Another mistake I made when I first started zaino was trying to use Mequires detailer after I had put zaino on, it gets cloudy. Just use the z-6. Towards the end of the summer I started doing like a 60/40 mix with z-6/purified water to make it go further. I didn't notice any problems doing that. CLAYBAR first though. Get that cloudy base off of your car so the zaino can do it's thing. What color is your car and did you get z-2 or z-5??

Re: broke down and finally did it I found it works good if you clay while washing your car. Keep your mitt/cloth above the area you are claying....that way its lubricated. I just make sure its not too sunny out. Quick Detailer works good.... i always used the Z6, i think it works a little better. Anyways that **** isnt cheap. It's a little bit more cost effective and thorough to do it when you wash it IMO <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I had already Washed it with dawn so I just backed it out of the garage and claybared it. went back in the garage and put the first coat on when it dried I wiped it off and could not believe my eyes after one coat. After you get the first coat on it is really easy to put the second and seems like the stuff just keeps speading. Really blows all the others away that I have tried!
One question how far should 2 ounces of Z5 go on an 01 TA. Just want to know if im applying it right.

landlord, it all depends. Normally I can do the entire car with some left over with 2 oz. Don't try to use the left over after it sits more than 24 hours. Just wash the bottle out with dawn and rinse it out really well. Pewter will still look awesome once you get a few coats on there and get it out in the sun. Just be sure to buff the zaino off really well. If it seems like it just keeps spreading around let it dry a little longer and keep turning your towel as you buff it. I shopped around until I found 100% USA made towels because I did notice a difference between those and the 100% pakistan made towels (swirl marks). I have a black car and every little imperfection shows up on it. I noticed the Zaino didn't really start to strut its stuff until I had 4-5 coats on it. Z-6 is expensive and doesn't last as long as I would like it to but it'll put a helluva shine on your car. It blows the other detailers away. I had a guy in a c-5 pass me on the interstate and I caught him looking at his car in my cars reflection. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> He probably totally missed the point but it still made me smile. That cloudy you are talking about is what I didnt like at all about Meguires. I mailed my order on weds. and now have received it on Tues so that wasnt long. Thanks for the replies and if any one calls tell them Im busy in the garage. LOL
Re: broke down and finally did it Man, I really gotta try this stuff! The more I read the more I like. Unfortunately its 0 degrees outside right now, and really not prime car waxing time... The only question I have is, how hard is it really to keep up wth the different formulas? I guess it all gets a lot easier after you clay it and get the first few coats on? I have to try it as soon as all this snow melts <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> and then <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />
Re: broke down and finally did it It's really easy once you get it and see what all it is. zfx is a speed cure for the polish, z-2 is a polish for light cars z-5 is a polish for dark cars, z-6 is the detailer. That's all you need to start really. zfx,z-2or5,z6. Go to zainobros.com and read around their site. It smells awesome too. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

According to the instructions that come with it it dosent really matter they all mix well you can go from z5 to z2 and back or the other way around.
