Well, i made my mind up not to buy the hood. The pictures of it showed peeling/cracking paint which would add to the cost to prep the hood for paint. I did buy the whole air box assembly for $350 which also comes with everything to hook it up to the TB. Later when i buy a hood ill have the air box ready to go. Thanks for all your help.

$350? ouch. I know that's the going price now but it just sickens me since i got mine with everything but the MAF and the MAF ext. cable (reused my stock MAF which is no different on a ws6 and paid $25 for a cable extension at summitt) for $115.

Tell me about it, it makes me sick to. But if you want this set up your going to have to pay. It really isn't all that much more then the SLP cold air kit which sells for $280, factor in tax and shipping it's near $300 to the door. Im only paying $50-60 more for an intake that i believe will flow better.

i thought the SLP ram air kit was the same as the pontiac one without the pontiac ram air logo and was discontinued as well

I think it's discontinued. IIRC you used to be able to get the firehawk ram air box (same as the WS6 only without the moulded rubber gasket but rather stick on rubber pieces for the hood and pontiac ram air letters) for $300

Its the law of supply and demand....if it wasn't worth that price to the people wanting to buy it then they wouldnt sell for that. Simple as that.

when my firehawk got hit in the front 2 years ago i bought a firehawk airbox for 300 bucks with a bellows. I couldnt find a firehawk hood anywhere so i ended up paying like 850 shipped for a brand new oem ws6 hood
