Default Camaro vs. TA seats

Guys,

I am 6'3 and back in the day I had a 01 Z28. I fit really good inside and I could pull the steering wheel all the way down without feeling uncomfortable. Well I sold the Z and now picked up a 00 TA. It seems that the TA seat does not go back as far as the Z and it makes me very uncomfortable. It seems like I am too fat for the car and I know that is not the case. Anyone ever experience this or is everything the same?

lmao. dude i know exactly what u are talkin about. i have been in lots of camaros but own a TA so i know the differences. its the dash and the 2 front seats. in a camaro the seats sit really low like vettes and in the TAs they are up higher. and the dash comes out more to the passengers because of the shape. everytime i sit in a camaro i feel like i have shrunk lol. dont worry your not going crazy lol they are different

thats exactly why I have a set of Camaro seats waiting to go into my TA. I've been told I'm crazy but in my current seats, I feel like I'm sitting on top of the car, my head almost hits the ceiling and the pleather/plastic TA seats squeak and make so much damn noise. In my buddy's Camaro, I feel like I'm actually sitting IN the car and the seats are so much more comfortable. I'll be doing seats, carpet, extra jute, and dynamat knock-off all at once when I get time

If your TA has lumbar the seat is higher up and doesn't go back as far. You just need standard power T/A seats, or move the mounting brackets.

When I traded from cloth 2000 Camaro seats to leather seats out of a 2000 it felt different. It's like the seats have more padding. Cause I'm 6'2 and with the cloth seats I could have thewheel tilted all the way down and not worry about my knee hitting the wheel and with the leathers it does. My buddy's TA feels even worse. Like I'm in a full size car.

I went from the cloth seats in my '98 Z28 to cloth seats out of a '99 Firebird/Formula and I prefer the Firebird's seats over the Camaro. The Firebird seats have more padding on the sides to help keep ME planted in the corners. However, whereas the Camaro seats have a "flat" bottom, there is a slight lift for the thighs in the Firebird seats which does bring a person't knee's up a little higher than the Camaro. I find the Firebird seats MUCH more comfortable!

I'll post pics so you can do a side by side camparison...the left is a Firebird seat, the right is a Camaro seat bottom:

I thought I was going nuts!!! I dont like how I fit in the TA. The camaro seats suck, but me beening so tall, the camaro seats felt better than the TA. How would I move the seat brackets back to help my legs out?

I find the TA seats to be much better. I'm 6' and find the TA seats hold me in place, the camaro seats are OK, but there is not as much side bolster to it top and bottom. My old camaro had leather and seemed to be a bit better than my current V6s cloth seats. Altho it would seem that my current camaros seat(d/s) is squished due to some fat bastard sitting in it. Im torn right now between filling it with padding or going to TA seats

I'll hop on the bandwagon. 6'4 230lbs. I wore out the side bolsters on my Camaro and upgraded to power lumbar T/A seats. The T/A seats are 1000x more ascetically pleasing and comfortable. If there is any difference in height it is negligible.

I agree. I recently swapped cloth Camaro seats for leather trans am seats. I'm comfortable now and actually have support when driving. The lumbar is really nice.

I love my T/A seats. Adj lumbar and adj bolster. For shitty vinyl imitation leather seats, they are nice
