Even funnier still is that the lugs on the left side of some late-60's Dodge/Plymouth cars "righty-tighty lefty-loosey" was reversed. They had some odd notion about vehicle turning forces/loads contributing to the nuts backing off. I bet you can imagine what happens when some unsuspecting techs try to remove the wheels.
