Need some detailing help

Need some detailing help Just picked up some Mothers Carnuba Cleaner wax and I really wanna get a good detail in and get these swirls out to get the paint lookin crisp again and I need some help. First, will the Mothers Powerball for paint get swirls out and do a good job? Also, what order do I do everything? I know its wash it first, but then do I clay bar then use like the Ultimate Compound, Polish, then Wax?
I have never used the powerball for paint, but I would not think it would work well on removing the swirls. Looks like it would work okay for putting on polish/wax. I use the Porter Cable and Meguiar's M105/M205 to clean up the paint. The clay bar will remove the contaminents from the paint, but you will need some "cutting" products to remove swirls/micro-scratches, etc. Once the surface is clean and clear you can add the polish and wax.

m105/205 is the best bang for the buck and a good d/a or orbital polisher. check autogeek.net they run lots of deals and have an awesome forum for any questions you might have. I use a griots d/a polisher.
Yes, you will need different pads. Most places have a kit that you can purchase to get started. You can add items after you find what you like. I buy from a few different places. Adams Polish's, Griots Garage, Autogeek. ToolsPlus and Ebay have good deals on the Porter Cable.

Alright cool, thanks guys! What about Mothers Ultimate Compound? I've heard good things about that. Looks like I'm makin a trip to the auto store this weekend so I can get some swirls out!
I bought a turtle wax 10 inch orbital and some mothers wax. Between the wax and the orbital that thing will take out most swirls and light scratches. Keeps me satisfied between buffs.

What buffaslow said,every cleaner that I have used never got swirls out,they say that but good luck,it really depends on how bad your paint is,do a search it will tell you steps to take ,but that power ball is not gonna get you the results you are looking for,you need a real buffer,but the shop I work at only chargers 90 bucks for paint detail,its worth it to take it to somewhere that knows what there doing,I have seen a lot of people do more harm then good,once you get it lookin nice there are some tips on how you should wash and dry your ride,

Yeah give autogeek a ring. I just ordered a Porter Cable/Meguiars kit from them. Comes with the polisher, 5 pads, M105, M205, and some final spray detailer. I also picked up some Wolfgang sealer and Nattys red wax.
