Default Yet another "What to do now" poll

Once again I'm debating between certain parts to add to my car. The guy that I'm supposted to get the OEM SS hood & wing from isn't really replying as much... so that seems to be up in the air. So I just had to do another poll, lol. I voted against the cowl hood because its to much of "drag" car look and I'm going for more auto-cross / sport look.

Like always here's a picture of my car:
2000 Z28 front
Camaro Z28 back

FYI: 2inch drop in about one month! Many suspension items are sitting in my basement just waiting to be installed .

With those aftermarket rims, the factory height of the car stands out even more.

You really need to lower that car ASAP.

Ivoted to drop it and leave the looks alone. It's got clean lines and will look killer when it's low. Don't mess that up. I'd focus on performance stuff if I were you. Gotta catch up to me.

Good boy. Performance is good. Appearance is a bonus. I think your car looks killer how it is, only thing that I think could make it better is a nice stance and MABYBE a LITTLE cowl hood... like a 2" or something, and I'm still partial to the G2 ZR28 spoiler, but that's just me.

Anyway, your car is either way. A far cry from the old Cavalier days.

MONGOOS - I can see you really really want me to get that 2 inch cowl, hehe. It doesn't fit the "look" I'm going for, but it would look nice if I was going more for the dragster style .

I see plenty of show cars with cowl hoods

Oh, was it a cavy or a corsica you used to have? I can't remember... aw the good old RKSport days...haha. You still talk to anyone from that board? I talk to Austin with the white TA pretty regularly

I say go with the SS hood and spoiler, you've already got the SS thing going on with the rear panel. Might as well run with it and make the look complete. BTW The car looks GREAT!

Also, I know this will illicit some 's but I would look into some tailight covers. I had the diagonally slotted ones from RKsport on my '94, and I made some slotted side marker covers for the rear to match out of black vinyl. (Got pics if u want them)Always got complements for it. That or some tasteful altezza's would look good. The stylistic weak links on Camaros are the tailights and front side marker lights(which I see you've already taken care of).

NightHawk - I do have a set of blackout sitting in my basement, I put them on for a bit to see what it would look like with the black pannel and it looked like it was missing color. I'm not a big fan of the altezza lights for our cars, so thats out of the question.

The ones that I wanted to get were the Export tail lights. I turned down a new set thinking they were to expensive ($340)... and now I'm seeing them go for 600+ , just a bit to much money for lights. I decided thought that I am gonna modify the stock lights. I am going to make the amber part the same color red as the brake and keep the reverse light white.

Sounds cool, the amber is the part that looks out of place anyway. What about swapping the solid red lights out of an earlier model, you think they would fit? I'm sure you could get a good set at a junkyard and it would save you a lot of trouble.

NightHawk - I looked into that before. What I wanted to do with the lights ended up being a big project and cost around $150 for everything, plus the 93-96 lights won't fit without modification. The reason it became somewhat costly and take some time is because I would want to convert them into sequntial (sp?) lights. (IE: -,--,---) when braking.

The guy that was supposted to sell me the SS parts isn't replying... looks like I'll probably stick with the stock parts, or get the 2inch cowl hood from VFN (nate ).

Take the stripes off the fenders. They take away from the good looks. Then get a power antenna and rig it so you can manually control when it’s up or not (if you’re playing CDs you don't need it up). I did the power antenna and put an extra fog light switch (next to the fog light) so I can control it. Those two things will really clean up the car.

I actually like the GS stripes a lot and get quite a few compliments (I think it fits the car's sport look nicely). I guess you don't like xsta's car... . But thanks for the input. I do however want to do the power antenna mod or at least cut the normal one to about 6inchs till I would get the power one.

They don't look right at all, IMO. Minus the stripes, and you'd probably have one of the best looking LS1 Z28s around here, IMO.

One of my local friends has the power antenna on his NBM SS... he's Jake99SS on this board. It looks much better with it

Looks good. Do what YOU want to do, not what everybody tells you to do. My .02 for a hood would be the Ultra Z hood, then again I'm not paying for it! Keep up the good work!
