Default Suicide Doors

Anybody out there got dem suicide doors on their F-Body? If so what kind of work would be involved in the conversion? Neon lights are kool, carbon fiber is hip, but suicide doors or just plain bitchin!

Has anyone checked out: [URL=http://www.suicidedoors.com]

I've got to wonder what they would look like on an F-Body. The conversion doesn't look like it is a technical nightmare. What do you all think?

Looks nice, suicide doors are very cool. I saw an ad in a magazine for a kit like that but for lamborghini style doors the open upward, it looks awesome too. I don't think it would be impossible to do.

It still looks awesome though. They say that they're adding more models quickly, though, so maybe if a bunch of us e-mail them they will put F-bodies on the list. Here's the site:

it takes a long time to load up if you don't have broadband.

Yea, i competed against his car at Super Chevy.. the engeineering and workmanship on the doors is VERY impressive.. they look like they came suicide from the factory

I like the car except for the wheels (some nice 18" HRE types would look better) and I dont like the white leather interior because it would be almost impossible to use the car and keep it looking in primo condition (and i like a more subtle look).. Oh, and I bet that billet steering wheel gets HOT in the sun I have to give the guy credit for putting a TON of work into his car.. And you may call it rice (inapropriate in this case since it makes good power) but I will tell you it sure does draw a crowd.

Could you imagine if you opened a suicide door at 60mph on the fryway!!

And I can certainly appreciate effort and craftsmanship independent of overall appeal.

Finally, the rice comment in this 'door concept' context was was aimed at my observation about people's desire to bolt on or otherwise decorate one's car with outlandish, or 'attention drawing' aftermarket components. But if someone enters this kind of contest obviously this is the kind of thing they are in to.

I would think that the suicides would be a lot harder than the gullwings, B/C with the suicides opening from the back, the wiring for the power windows, etc. would have to be totally redone. The gullwings, in theory, wouldn't have that drawback. How did that guy in the link do it?

Would I do that to my car? no. Do I like the execution? Absolutely. And that is definitely not rice. If you notice on the left side under Car Setup: Show. Its obviously a show car which 99 out of 100 go to the extreme to give it 'pop' That is not rice. Rice is pretending to be something your not, aka a honda accord being a race car. Or a 6 cyl mustang with Saleen stickers and body kits. THAT is rice. Some of you guys call anything that adds something to the car that isn't performance related rice. Would you call the hot rod builders rice? They make custom interiors and flames and cool gadgets such as suicide doors on cars with FAKE bodies modeled after real cars. Is that rice too? Or is that ok because its an old car design? Gimme a break. If you don't like something, that's cool, but by god not everything you don't like on yer car is RICE.
