Another Dot Matrix Question Hi, I'm new to these forums but I've read around on them a bit.
I know most people fix their dot matrix tint problems with some vinyl. I was wondering around how much its going to cost to get a tinter to lay the vinyl on it.

I think mine was like an extra 25 maybe? that was like 3 years ago.

BTY I had mine done without any problems with just tint.....Just depends on the installer I guess........

Another way that helps with the dot matrix issue is to let the car bake in the sun. I went out twice a day and used a credit card to smooth out the areas that were trying to not lay down. Might work for some... might not. I think the quality of the tint also helps.

I painted mine on the car. Just mask everything off. Had no problems with doing it that way. I think this is the 3rd thread on this exact topic this month. Unless the search wasn't working, you should be able to find a lot of answers with research. Besides that, the guys that say the tinter applied over it, the tinter may have sanded the dots a bit. Less bump is less likely to cause bubbles. I couldn't imagine applying vinyl wouldn't make a line bubble where the tint overlaps it. I'd say paint it and then lightly sand the edge of the paint.
Just ask the tinter you take your car to; to sand the porcelain bot matrix down a little bit wit a DA or you can have them use an OLD tinter's trick and use a glue stick on it. The tinter at the shop I work at hates doing the back glass on cars like ours; but he gets the tint laid looking all clean and no bubbling around the dot matrix
