Default ta fixed headlights

I've found fixed headlights at www.rksport.com for $995. These seem real expensive to me for what you get. Does anyone in here know other places to find these fixed headlights? I've done alot of body work to my car, and I think these lights painted black if priced right will be the next move.

Those are NICE, I wish they would just sell the plastic cover. I know I can make my own housing and mount the lights (I'd get my own), I just want the cars original lines to stay the same. That is way to much. I really want that because the nylon gears in my lights have worn out and makes that ridiculous grinding noise when locking and unlocking the car (whenever the lights close). I am going to call and ask if theyd sell me the covers. Anyone know how to get those "smoked" like the blackouts on a camaro or mustang?

Did you try the brass gears to fix that grinding noise? People say it works really well.

Here is the place most people mention:
http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/

At the bottom, there is also a free headlight fix, although it is only temporary.

Hey
I talked to the guy at rksport.com he said if we get like 10 or so ppl, he'd give us a group deal .
About those brass gears tho, with the nylon gears, yes they gave way , but it was because the motor was still trying to turn. If you replace those with something that wont give way, like brass, then the motor is still trying to turn, put now the force it was trying to put out on the gears is on the motor and could wear out the motor. I want the fixed lights to get rid of the problem all together

The motor stops when it senses resistance. Therefore it shouldnt burn out sooner with the brass gears.

The guy said in reply to my email, they would be "considerably cheaper". Anyone interested? They don't make those lights themselves, I also emailed the company that makes them, they are in the miami ft lauderdale area. I'll let you know what they say.
VIP1: I agree with you.

Not that big of a fan of them on the 'birds, but i think they make the Corvette look a lot better. Ive only seen the non-popups on a few TAs, looked alright...i think it comes down to the color of the car (well, @ least for me). If its black or NBM, it'd probably look sweet, or maybe even silver or pewter, but white or red...i dunno

I agree those seem really expensive, but hell, an entire stock headlight assembly pair is probably that much too.
I *think* I like the way they look, but I've yet to see one in person.

no drug dealing, I used to kinda work in the car audio business, the off road truck business, now I'm cracking into the fast car business. I've learned if you build it real big. you can get sponsors to pay for it. thanks for the compliment though.

I bet someone with alot of skill and time could start producing those for less. It is an interesting look for sure.
