painting headers...question.
I just ordered some edelbrock ti-tech coated headers for my SS... My question is....
Has anyone ever painted over the ti-tech coating? Is it gonna peel like regular black paint does on most headers... I heard this ti-tech stuff is supposed to be "as good as ceramic" but if it needs a peeling period first, I want to know before I paint them, so I can peel them first, then paint... I'd like them to look good for a long time. Also, what is the absolute best product in a can to paint it with and how long should I expect it to last saying I do all prep work and a good job? Just probably gonna paint them silver or aluminum colored...
heres a link to what the ti tech crap is lol

If they are coated I would see how the coating holds up and paint them if the coating doesn't meet your standards. I painted bare pacesetters about two years ago and they are holding up pretty well. I have to believe that the coating will be more durable than the paint so I'm curious why you want to paint over the coating? Just for looks?
