Mild change to the Chevelle

Never been a fan of the 71-72 headlight buckets because they are HUGE and chrome and gaudy (72 is the worst because the grill flows into them so if they are left chrome they stick out like a sore thumb).

I was bored and decided to try painting them, but leaving a chrome lip. I am extremely pleased with the toned down look, but the chrome lip makes them pop. Also carries with the factory theme of black/chrome shared by the grill and turn signal bezels.

I'll have some better full front shots later today. I should have done this years ago...

Looks good man, carries the theme nicely compared to an all chrome piece

I might have to try this on my '76 pickup. It has similar buckets and it might look nice once I black out the grille.

Looks good. Wonder what it would look like if it were done to match the paint if say it were red, blue, green, or something with shine to it. Could look good.

Over $1500 not including paint unless I found a donor car.

I want to find a clean/solid 70 model and swap my drivetrain and interior into it since my frame has been wrecked twice anyway. Also the floors are wrecked from a driveshaft failure on the dyno.

I would rather invest in a 70 model car that will then be worth more than into making my car a clone.

But I agree, 70 front end is pure sex in comparison.
