Lightbulb Which HID Kit??

Ive been searching. not sure what the best "brand" kit to go with would be. Ive ordered SEVERAL kits from ebay both for myself and friends. All different, but usually have bugs/problems with all of them. One light may not come on sometimes, or flicker, or one light isn't the same color as the other. So, which brand/company have you guys got the best results with? Thanks!

A lot of people like BLS. A member named ZexGX has them on his Formula and loves them. They're expensive, but the best of the best from what I hear.

Yeh I've already read into that. Looks great, but that's a lil out of my price range for headlights. I'm probably gonna just do HID's in the LMC housings with 5006's..

Yeah, they're out of my price range too. I just went with ebay housings, and got the bulbs/ballasts from hidxenonheadlights.com. Wish I could've got projector housings.

I have used DDM tuning on a few different vehicles with great results each time. The price isn't bad at all for their stuff.

I currently have the VVME Kit, before that i had the DDM Tuning kit.

Price for my VVME Kit was = $70.55 shipped (This is a company that does business from China. Just so you know, incase that's a problem for you. 1yr warranty free, 2yrs is like another $15.)

Price for my DDM Tuning Kit was = $62.50 (remove $15, since i added the Error Code Eliminator. You dont really need but i wasnt sure, so just throw it in there for the hell of it.)

Add extra to the VVME kit if you go with the Slim Ballasts version. I only had an $8 difference but again, take $15 off the DDM kit and it would be alot cheaper but it only lasted me 5months before my driverside bulb losts its blueish color. Still lit up but didnt have the color while my passengerside still did.

Either way, both kits were under $100.

One thing to keep in mind is DDM Tuning was/is supposibly being sued for the HID kit. Other member's on here have had there issues with DDM as well. There's some threads that have been made about it. I had a good experience with them but this was back in like June/July of 2010. Alot of other ppl on here had good experiences as well. I was planning on going with them again but when i saw that ppl were having issues with them and they were being sued and were no longer going to be selling the kits anymore. I decided to look somewhere else and a friend suggested VVME. So i went them, and im happy so far.

If you do decide to go with DDM, try and contact them before you send any money. Just to be on the safe side.

no they still do. they're shipped directly from china now.

i have ddmtuning and have had no problems. but if you order from them don't expect them within a week, as they seem to take a while to arrive.

according to VVME they do, I would post a link but not sure its okay so heres the discription.

"24V 35W H4-1(9003/HB2) SINGLE BEAM xenon HID conversion kit. This is a genuine xenon HID kit that is E4 & ISO-9001:2000 Approved, NOT those cheap ones that do nothing at all.

These kits are Plug-n-Play and easy to install (30-40 min. for a beginner) for your specific vehicle applications and fit directly into your existing headlight assembly.

Yeh everything I read, other than the few who posted here, say stay away from DDM. That's why I was leaning toward VVME. probably going to run 55W in the lows and 35W in the fogs.

I buy all my kits off ebay. I have never had a problem with any of them. It's definitely just hit and miss. There are just as many people having issues with the more expensive HID kits as there are with the cheap ebay kits.

In the end they're all made in China anyways...

yeh, that's probably true. But I figured I'd at least try to get some recommendation from someone who had a decent kit brand. I want to at least get both kits from the same vendor so HOPEFULLY they will match in color/intensity etc.

Shipping from VVME was pretty quick as well, got it within a week if you count the weekend. Shipped out on Wednesday, got it the next Monday. Did take 2 days before it shipped out, ordered on a Sunday night. Like mentioned though, there shipped from China. Got a time difference that probably made it take those 2 days.

I have 6k in mine from XtremeHIDs.com and the only problem with I had was they would flicker but I ended up buying the relay harness and that seemed to have fixed it. I'm not gonna list what the price is cause there not a sponsor but I will say if you check them out, there prices are listed higher than DDM but DDM ships via FedEx I think and Xtreme ships via Postal Service so the price evens out but I bought 2 sets and got both of them within a couple of days but bought a relay harness from DDM and waited for it for o we a week so to me, Xtreme was the way to go.
