UPDATE: The passenger side still works like a champ. Got ANOTHER replacement for the drivers side and voila! It worked... for a day... now it doesn't go up or down... the lights work, but doesnt come up... no idea why. and when i try to manually turn it to get it up, its ridiculously hard ( i couldnt get it up ). Its stuck down and no idea why. Worked all day... This is SO FRUSTRATING

Okay, last update to end the thread. Both headlights are workin like a champ. One of the bolts on the drivers side that hold the motor in was backwards so some of the thread of the bolt was actually getting the arm stuck when it moved haha. Hard to explain, but simple and easy fix. Finally... after months, my headlights are working like new. that and I did both the DRL sockets. (20 bucks on ebay for BRAND NEW sockets) and those have no more issues now. W I N

My friend had one factory motor and one Autozone motor on his LS1 Formula. The Autozone motor was incredibly noisier and cheaper sounding. That is the main reason why I have not purchased Autozone/aftermarket headlights. At this point, the "free fix" has been done to both of my stock motors with 17x,xxx miles on them. Thoughts?

The free fix didnt work out for me so i had to get new motors. i was fed up with it. and the diff design that my passenger side has with screws for the panel from autozone... that one goes up more gently and smoother. it feels like an upgrade to be honest.

The easy way to test is to find another 98-02 F-body with ORIGINAL headlight motors and do a side-by-side comparison.
