Default Whistler Mod tonight... maybe

i think the whisler mod and darker turn signals would make my front look much better, last weekend I tinted my tails with vht and was really impressed with the results. anyways I had a few basic questions before I tear my lights apart one of them is will I have any issues with my 8000k hid melting the paint another is should I use a baking sheet when I put them in the oven? and finally for the people that have done it do you have any words of advice before I start?

Idk about the temp of the HID's and if they will melt the paint or not. As for the whole setup, I'd do it and idk if your in to it or not but I would address the 3rd brake light. Other than that, it'll look good.

i did mine tuesday. well didnt do the whistler mod but i did put them in the oven to remove/change the lens.

put them in for 20minutes @ 200degrees.
i put 1 headlight at a time.
i just threw it in there with no baking sheet, etc.

once you take it out use a butter knife to remove the hot silicone/glue.

its real easy really

I have 55w 6k and they haven't melted the paint. Just make sure to be careful when separating the housing from the lens. Be very patient and dont get in a hurry. If you dont get it all separated while its hot just toss it back in the oven.

I dont think im going to address the third light, one reason I believe is lets say I got rear ended and the person said they couldn't see my lights because the tint I could be at fault, but with that center led bar it makes me feel alittle bit safer

VHT the corners and rear sidemarkers, maybe 1 light coat on the 3rd brake light if anything.

As for the headlights, you can try and use the VHT high temp paint for them. I need to do this, but also need stock headlights.

Can't argue with that point, lol. But it does stick out but it's not like "Hey look at me". But I do agree with your point. I had VHT on my tails and 3rd brake light and to many times I didn't think the person behind me was ever going to stop or slow down so I wet sanded mine off and I'm back factory looking tails.

No it won't melt the paint. Just use High temp paint and you'll be fine.

i did mine and i like it alot , i also painted behind the brights ,i never use them anyway, but i think it came out really good, and honest follow a write up and its easy as pie,one tip when you start on working them apart go towards the head light with a butter knife or something, if you go against the plastic you will just chip the plastic up, my buddy didnt get that at first and jacked his all up,enough silicone fixed them but just a tip, also dont be shy with the silicone.and i did use a baking sheet . honest i suck at projects like this and if i can do it anyone can ,
