Hey Mark.. can you make me a set of coil mounting brackets??? (trade ya for plates)..

Even with the motor moved back there is still plenty of room for coil packs.. I see you point on the AC but i would rather have the AC high and have better weight ratio.

Also, dont go knockin gearbox type steering.. only reason they went to R&P is that its cheap

Andy, no heater.. no AC.. no Power Brakes.. Lite, fast and fun.. its not like its my daily driver -- I might drop in a vintage air system down the line but for now i want simplicity..

And yes Tony.. its "funny" how the project has snowballed.. im just dying to drive it!

Mark, shoot some photos of the bare coil brackets themselves, I'd like to see what I'll be fabricating. Probably make those next week.

Got the crusty old subframe off the car last night, will hopefully get the new one and engine/tranny in the car tonight. Things are coming together....

Okay, I'll do it tonight. We're going to have to mount them to the heads first anyway because the coils get in the way of the bolts that hold the bracket on.. Once in place, the coils can be put in place.

Question on the steering setup from BRP. Does it fix the miserable turning radius of the first gen? A Suburban will turn a tighter circle than my 69 Camaro.

I would doubt it.. the limiting factor in turning radius on a 1st gen is the tires hitting the subframe.. maybe with an aftermarket subframe of narrower tires/wheels..

Mark.. shoot me those pics as well

Have you guys considered using a 69 Z/28 steering box, it is a quick ratio. You can get them at Ricks First Generation for $365. Here is the link. http://www.rickscamaros.com/cgi-loca...912+1083591159
These guys are great to deal with. Its the only place that I bought my first gen parts. Nice being only an hour away! No shipping

A better box is the Z box from an 88 and up Monte SS. It also is a quick ratio and it is a whole different car with that in my 67.

I would like those pictures of the bare brackets as well. I will make some as well because I will be keeping the room at the firewall. As for brackets for ac up top I guess you could get out your wallet and call S&P

But, I kept the orignal pulley setup because a Magnuson super charger was on the long term plan. But, since Nine Ball has one being made for him maybe they will sell it. Nine Ball, is your supercharger using the stock f-body pulley setup or was that customized for your application?

Im using the most hi-tech and advanced steering box out there.. the new 600 box. all the pinion and none of the rack

See it here:
http://www.detroitspeed.com/600SteeringGear.html

Ok, so it's a little pricy..

Oh yea, I agree that Ricks is a great place to do business (call there often )

I to had to play with my motor mount today. After letting the engine settle, the alt. was about 1/8" from the frame. I ended up shimming the driver side mount 1/8" and it is all clear. I wish my hoses were that easy. I ended up getting a welder to fab up a lower hose with heater hose fittings and a steam hose. Kinda looks like a crack pipe.

Where did you get the LS1 plate for you intake? I hate the look of that empty square.
