Default Pass. side airbag covers

Has anyone bought a new replacement from GM?

I called hawks third gen and they're telling me that I can't get that one piece, I need to order a new dash, which will be $250.00

Anyone ?

That's kind of strange. When you say part of the dash, that includes the top piece as well, where the vents/cut outs for the windshield de-frosting are?

The dash pad and dash bezel are separate. The airbag cover isn't easily replaced. I painted mine with duplicolor vinyl and fabric black and it looks good.

airbag cover is glued to the dash, easy to remove with a thin knife. I did this when i wrapped my dash in vinyl. Then it´s only glue the cover in place.
dont use any strong epoxy since the cover need to pop up i case of ...
Also cover is attached with 2 or 3 screws at the back. You neded to remove the upper pad to access this area.

I would like to have a spare brand new part just to hold on to, not necessaraly swap them new with the old. The original is starting to get warped near the top and it bothers me....car has 25K miles :S
