Default Charcoal door panel stain/paint

I am making custom door panels with red inserts. But, the charcoal upper and lower sections are a little faded. Has anyone found a vinyl dye that is a good match for the F-body charcoal interior. I am looking for a product to touch up some spots. But, I could dye the entire charcoal section. Duplicolor make a vinyl and fabric charcoal paint. Any suggestions?

Watching "Muscle Car" on Spike last weekend, they used a prep kit for dyeing interior trim made by PPG and then just had the dye blended, might do some research on their website, its was for a lime green 3rd gen z their rebuilding, Project Limelight. FWIW.

My panel is pretty sun-faded near the door seam, so I bought a kit from a hobby store that had you mix together different colors to get a match to your door panel--what a nightmare! Getting a decent color match actually wasn't too bad, but the stuff was messy, didn't coat evenly, and most importantly, NEVER dried. A month later it was still fairly tacky and if I rubbed on it hard enough it would come off on my fingers. And it was a relatively thin coat I applied as well, I couldn't understand it. It looked promising when it was first going on but it looked like absolute GARBAGE in the end. I finally ended up washing it all off which of course took longer than actually applying it in the first place.

Bumping this back up since I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with a process like this. I've got 2 perfect grey panels but need ebony for a new project. Hate to have buy more door panels when I've got 2 new ones already. Plus they're hard to find and expensive as hell!
