Default Luxury cars light shade tint?

I noticed that usually Mercedez Benz cars have a light tint that sometimes looks purple and or black depending on how sunlight hits it.

Is this "factory tint" or the windows just have some type of coating? Can this be mimicked with 70% tint?

weird... I noticed that this weekend too - my sister has two MBs and the C-series has factory polarized tint (the rainbow-like tint you can get on Oakley sunglasses) and the SUV has the same tint on the rear and a blue tint in the glass on the front doors. I've also seen some newer BMWs with the similar blue tint to the glass

I think it's just a UV blocker coating or something built into the glass. There's a lot of newer cars now that have them not just luxury cars.

I believe it's just the glass itself. You can find very light tint out there, and there are higher end options like Huper Optik as well.

I think going with anything lighter than 35% with normal film isn't worthwhile, but that's just my personal preference.
