I was at an intersection today and the car across from me was an LS1 trans-am. While stopped at the light it popped up its headlights. It never really occurred to me, but looking at it there sitting next to a newer vehicle, it really looked dated.
I think that is the first time I really looked at a 98-02 f-body as an "old" car. I had always thought that they really stood up to time well.
Which f-body has stood up to time the best? I'm going to go with the 98-02 Camaro.

the 4th gen 98-02 WS6, not a doubt in my mind. you can tell what it is from a mile away, and what its capable of. They just have "kick ***" written all over them. Im biased though..

I voted for the t/a just because they look the best. Like he said above you can see it coming down the road and its still a badass car. I love my camaro but its just to plain compared to that.

i think all the 98-02's withstand time the best
It's still hard for me to believe that they've been around almost 15 years.
It's probably cause the majority of the LS1 car owners still actually take care of them, compared to the LT1's and 3rd gens, which are mostly ragged the **** out

The 98-02 WS6 just has a very timeless style imo. The 98-02 SS is a very close second, but the flat hood / spoiler Z28 just doesn't "pop" much anymore. Not to me at least. The Camaro looks like it could kick your ***, but the Trans Am looks like it's about to come over and do it.

98-02 Firebird/Trans Am
98-02's with the Ram Air hood just look mean and nasty. I'd say that the 98 commercials and magazine ads helped it some in my opinion. Kinda "throwback" to the 60s making a bold statement like "The Muscle Car lives". I don't know how they look outdated.

I was in high school when the LS1 F-cars were brand new and just came out, the ram air Trans Ams, were really popular back then. Didn't matter if you liked imports or domestics, it was pretty well agreed upon that most people really liked the way the LS1 TA WS6s looked. Now looking at them 13 years later, they still look good, probably because I still like F-bodies but I do agree they look really dated to whats out there now. The interiors look good to me still, but quality wise their junk compared to new stuff. They are the new fox body Mustang and most the owners have the same mentality fox body guys did back in the late 90s, early 00s. They don't run quite as well as newer stuff but bang for the buck they can be fast. Most are ragged to **** but some clean ones are still out there, and for the most part people only buy them to mod. Unless I go to a car meet, most 4th gens are junk, which is weird but then you remind your self the newest 4th gen is almost 10 years old. I have had a 4th gen for 11 years, so I have seen the owner pool for these cars change for the worst, happens to all cars as they get old, hence the new fox body Mustang which they are. You still have a lot of guys who keep their stuff clean and do a pretty good job with their cars, but for the most part, that is few and far between.
