Default blackened the tails

I decided to blackout my tail light with VHT and I am really diggin the results. The 3rd brake light is another issue though... Kept cracking. I had heard of people picking up an aftermarket one?

The bottom side stayed decent. I took some spray bondo and smoothed it all out and just painted the top of the light to match the car.... The underside still lights up. Kinda cool and different. More pics to come.

That's pretty cool, you should've left the reverse light section white imo. I'm thinking of doing this to my Camaro this weekend. Did you remove the tail lights?

I was debating on spraying the bottom part of the bumper Black. The ceta mod I guess? I'm thinking it might look kinda cool. That black n Blue looks killer.

Yes I removed the tails... Much easier to do. It's only 5 wingnuts on each side. You have to remove spare tire. Plus I found 11 years of gunk and grime under the plastic pieces. Gonna replace bulbs while your at it.

Maybe its just the angle, but that looks BLACK. Pics at night w/ lights and then brakes lights? Curious to see how it turned out translucency-wise

Looks good. Like someone else mentioned, try to take some pics at night with the brake lights on.

Did you wet sand and polish the VHT afterwards or just spray and be done?

Came out really good. I hope to do this when I get my car repainted as well. The CETA mod would look great with the blacked out lights.

it is when you paint the little lined out box area where the exhaust tips come out black. it is very common on pewter T/A's and becoming more popular as time goes on. i think any T/A that is not black should do it cause it looks killer!
