Default CREE LED reverse lights

Got the pair for under $25 shipped from eBay, although you can find them being imported from China on a bunch of other sites. They are more focused in the short range, but at distance seem dimmer than stock. Nice appearance/pattern though, and acceptable brightness:

Final verdict: don't buy, even at $25 shipped for the pair. You can't use them in DRL situations due to overheating, and I'm not sure you would want to since it would not illuminate to the sides very well.

So your saying reverse light applications only due to the heat ? Looks better than stock.

Looking good, although I do question the construction quality of those bulbs.

I had LEDs in the reverse lights at one point and they were more for looks rather than function. I agree that they look good.

Interesting. CREE is a US manufacturer of LEDs so was the whole unit assembled in China or the US. Personally for our housings, it's best to go with a tower style LED to obtain proper light distribution. The ones you show obviously have power but lack in a couple ways as you mentioned. I have 48 LED towers in my reverse lamps which work great.

If CREE is a US manufacturer, I would suspect that the ones from China are cheap copies.

I only paid $0.99 + $23 shipping for it, genius. Hence the sentence in the first post where I said that I got them for under $25 shipped.

But yes, they could be priced lower. You still won't find them any cheaper than that on eBay.
