Default 6LE Dual Dash Pod - on the headliner?

Anyone taken 6LE's dash pod and flipped it upside down and mounted it on the headliner close to the front of the windshield?

I have (2) gauges in the front of the center console beneath the radio (oil temp & water temp). I am planning on adding fuel pressure and AFR at the minimum. If I was going with a 3rd, it would probably be oil pressure. Anyway, I am not a fan of the way the a-pillar pods mount, much less that painting them to match can be a PITA.

I am thinking the black dash pod might go good in the spot above the rear view mirror with some angle rings to point them down and towards the driver seat. Has anyone done this? If so, pics! What are your thoughts?

If your going to try to put the angle rings on 6LE's pods, you better be good with a dremel. I tried to do the same thing but the gauges are mounted to close togther for the angle rings to work. You may be able to find a way for it to work, but I couldn't. Pretty good idea though..

Yea, I had to Dremel the center console plate that replaces the traction control plate. Of course, I had to do that regardless as the angle rings rotate the gauge and there isn't enough clearance for the body of the gauge in the tight 2-1/16" hole anyway.

a buddy and I played around with that same idea and for a while I though that was the route he was going to go but he ended up sticking it on the dash. The edges of the pod stuck over a little but If you were to get the headliner recovered with it already mounted I think it would look good

Well I thought I would just trim the edges flush, not sure though. I know I wouldn't put it on the dash though. I dont want to put any screw in there much less a hole for the wires.

Did he ever take pictures while in that process of roof attachment?
