nah you dont have to switch them off. you can if you want to but its not necessary. i run my hid's on most of the time on with the fog lights. when i dont want the fog lights running i just turn them off via the fog light switch. the only thing i did disable on mine was the auto-switch. but it was due to preferance nothing to do with them not running correctly.

what kit did you order? xentec?

Yeah xentec, in the FAQ it states:
"You MUST DISABLE Daytime Running Light or "Auto Switch-On" functions before the HID installation"
I never heard of people saying they needed to disable the auto switch function
I bought the 6000k temperature

they might of put that message for other car's etc. on an fbody is not something you have to do unless you dont like the lights to come on by themselves

Be weary of those cheap *** eBay kits. I originally bought one and neither one worked. I returned it and the replacement was junk too. I ended up buying a kit off a member here from Bada Bing and they work great. The only thing is watch the connection to
The ballast, some have to be turned around so basically it's like hooking it up backwards, for it to work properly. Might not be the case for you, I'm just speaking of personal experience.

Thx, I will keep that in mind, seriously.

I was referred over by another ls1tech member, and I heard nothing but good things about xentec, so hopefully I diddn't get a knock off.

I'll keep this thread updated about that.
