Can any of you tell me how you painted your tailights, turn signals, etc? Did you paint the outside? What steps (sanding etc.)?

Russ <hr /></blockquote>I just painted my tail lights, I shaved the parking lights off. But I pulled back the carpet and took off the butterfly nuts holding the tail lights on. they are real easy to get off. once out, I just made several light sprays about 3 minutes apart, Than take yourself back to the good old remote control car days with the paintable lexan bodies. Remember "Testors" brand paint. I got some of there clear coat paint and made a few real fine mist passes to get them glossy. I saved the sanding part by holding the can real far away and spending a little more time.

For my side markers, I took them off, sanded them lightly (on the outside) to give them a rough sufrace, then gave them a few coats of the nite-shades. I used too much, though, and now they are almost completely opaque, so I would use as little as possible to get the look that you want. For the third brake light, I took it off, taped off the front (or back?), and I think I sanded the top like the side markers. I painted it with gloss black, because I don't think that airplanes other things in the sky need to see my brake lights. The side of the light is plenty bright enough,anyway. Thanks for the tips on painting the brake lights fellas. That looks so much cleaner. I'll have to try it on a few practice pieces first, but it's a "must have" mod for black cars.
