Default Rattling t-top: can anything be done?

Besides turning up the radio, that is.

My driver's side is quiet as a mouse, but the passenger side is getting on my nerves. I'm pretty sure it's the metal bars rattling inside the plastic holes on the pillars. So far I've tried insulating the metal with a little silicone caulk but there's not much clearance and it always winds up peeling off when I relatch them.

Surely I'm not the first, anyone had any success quieting them down? The car already has subframe connectors. I know it's the nature of these beasts and over time I'm just going to have to get used to noises, but I'm not ready to give in just yet.

What you can try is...

there are these little plastic covers on the car where the rods in the ttop lock into. there are two screws holding thse covers in place. Take the cover off and you will see this metal piece in there with a hole in it for the rod.

Try putting some elctrical tape around the rim of the hole so as to cushion it a little. Or you can try anything else to cuishion it. Maybe even a rubber grommet?

I dno thats just my 2 cents.

My buddie with a T/A had the same problem! He just had a bushing or grommet replaced in the T-Top itself and the rattling stopped.
