Default G5 G6 Solstice Steering Wheel

I read a few lengthy posts about people wanting to install the steering wheel from the G5/G6/Solstice, but never got any results from them. Has anyone ever actually finished the install? Is it possible to make the steering wheel controls and airbag functional with the new wheel installed? Thanks for the info.

There is no way you get the air bag or radio controls to work, they use can-bus electronics and are powered by pulsed signals. The steering wheel could bolt up if you remachined your upper steering shaft to fit the smaller diameter metric hole in the new wheel. Alota work for a steering wheel that still is the size of a school bus wheel.

im curious on this too. id like the look of the solstice steering wheel. don't really car about the stereo funtions as I am about if the airbag could be used. but even then, the biggest thing id like to know if it could be fitted on there in anyway? an adaptor? something?

Maxplusten just did this. It was with a C6 steering wheel, which is the exact same as the G5/Solstice wheel.
