You can go 285s all the way around without any rubbing issues. Personally if I was in your shoes I'd go 285s because a 275/35-18 tire is actually about .1" shorter then stock size. 285/35-18 is about .2" taller then stock.

275 is the width of the tire. So 285 would be the same size as long as the aspect ratio did not change.

275 is the width of the tire. So 285 would be the same size as long as the aspect ratio did not change.

Yes I know 275 is the width.
I was referring to the height differences of the 2 sizes.
A 285/35-18 tire would be about .3" taller than a 275/35-18 tire.
26.13" height... 0.48" taller than stock.
82.09" circumference... 1.52" more than stock.
These measurements result in your speedometer and odometer reading LOW by 1.85%
Not too bad...
When your speedometer reads 54mph, you're actually going 55mph. When it reads 108mph, you're actually going 110mph.
And for every 1000 miles traveled, your odometer will show 981.47 miles.
For future reference, here's a helpful link to get all this data:

I would also recommend looking up the actual tire measurements from the manufacturer, because cut sizes of different brands do vary.
i.e. a 315/35-17 Nitto is cut smaller than a 315/35-17 Yokohama.
