Default Questions about foam guns

What type of car wash soap do you use?

How much soap do you go through at the setting you use per car?

Anyone use it on the underside of the car with a long brush then rinse off?

All in all, is it worth spending the extra money (cause I know they go through a lot of soap) just for a pre-foam?

Pretty much any concentrated car wash should be fine to use in a foam gun, although the ones that are designed to be particularly soapy/sudsy will typically yield a better foam effect. As far as which settings are optimal, this is entirely experimental and up to personal preference. The best thing is to check out a couple reviews on detailing forums for various soaps and then just start trying them.

Meguiars super soap is designed for a gun, but its only in gallons size. Detailers Pro extreme foam is made for foam guns also. I have been using megauirs gold class with a tiny bit of ultimate wash and wax and it foamed enough imo.

That's the answer I was looking for. I knew there were car wash soaps designed for extra foam, just didn't know which ones. I need to get an idea of how much the soap is going to cost because I know it'll get used up pretty fast and I'm skeptical if I really want to spend the extra money just for a pre-foam.

Now I just need to know, does anyone use it on the underside of the car, perhaps scrubbing with a long brush?

I'm kinda figuring that it's not a great idea to fill it with degreaser seeing as you could accidentally spray the paint. I'll rule that out

Well I thought about that and I'll bet any detailer will say it is worth buying one. I'm sure they would also go through more soap than the average person would with one of these guns.

LOL.

DP has a good foaming soap. You don't NEED super thick foam, but it does look good! Meguiars Pro Line Shampoo Plus has super WEAK foam, BUT EXCELLENT lubricity and is a good foaming soap because of that.

Zaino Z7 for the same reasons.

So really you can use just about any soap.

Haha thanks man. If I were to buy this I'd go with meguiars super soap just cause you can buy it in bulk (1 or 5 gallon) and it's cheap.
