Window tint advise needed
Window tint advise needed Hey guys,
I'm gonna get my T/A windows tinted tomorrow, if possible. In order to avoid too many police hassles, I was thinking of 20% out back, and 35% for the sides.
How much should I expect this to cost.
For all you Chicagoland people, I would like some references in and around the north side of the city. I've had some referrals out to the southwest subs, but would like to do it closer to home.
Please help, as I don't want to have to let my fingers do the walking.

Re: Window tint advise needed Well I had 20% put all around from $120. About 5 weeks ago I was pulled over for tint and had to appear in court for it. I ended up payin $45 and I'm now on 3 month supervision (judge didn't care if it was still on or not). Before court I ended up getting 4% tint in the back and I still have my 20% on. I've seen people get pulled for only having 35% on the sides, so it doesn't matter what % it is, they will pull you over eventually. But the darker the more noticable.

Re: Window tint advise needed About 30mins to do. The back is one peice and everything has a lifetime warrenty. I know the guy pretty good now (been their with many other cars), but I think he'll give you the same $120 price. I paied him a extra $50 to put on that 2nd layer to make my back from 20% to 4%.

Re: Window tint advise needed imo its not worth tinting unless you go all the way. i have limo tint all around 3% and 35% on the windsheild i dont live in chicago but here in florida everyone has limo, and I have never been pulled over. just dont worry about it and roll the windows down when you see a cop.
and btw dont get your hatch tinted unless its 1 whole piece or it will peel off.

Re: Window tint advise needed I had 35% put in all around about 2.5 years ago. I just got my first ticket for it a few weeks ago. I had Ziebart in Franklin Park do the work. Larry from Speed, Inc. worked there when I got it done. I think it came to $120. Very good work too!
Re: Window tint advise needed Don't go to guy in Lombard at zeibart, he's a jerkoff. You will get bothered with any tint! So as long as your going to get in trouble make it worth it. Dark. As far as a one piece back window I've never had one, all mine since 1987 have been three piece, never a problem. Good luck. Andy

Re: Window tint advise needed i spent $215 to have 3% on the rear and 20% on the sides. I think they dicked me over though because ive seen other places do all the windows for under$200. Expect at least $200 just in case.

Re: Window tint advise needed I had my back window tinted one piece limo and the sides 20%. I have had no problems with the tint. I got mine done for $180 all around with a lifetime gaurantee at Mid Amaerican Glass Tint in Schaumburg off off Morse Ave. 1-847-352-4047 talk to Pete.

Anyway, the place Last Yellow is referring to is in Naperville. I've had my Aurora, my 2500HD, and a friend's Nissan Maxipad done there. The guy has been tinting for about 20 years and does unbelievable work.
He's at Express Auto Glass in Naperville (on Ogden). I got hooked up with him from our dealer who used to use Express for warranty replacements on windshield's and other glass.
