New flash: dissappearing hood!
Yes, I know the quality is low.
Yes, I know the image is jumpy around 40 and 70 percent.
Yes, this is just a test, to see if I want to go
further with this.

So, should I stop now or what? My plan is to do a complete
walkaround of a car, click on the hood to open it,
click on a door to look in inside, etc.

I tried to find the thread on making transparent parts in photoshop but couldn't find it.
Do you know where a tutorial is?

There is no exact transparent effect, that is why you probably aren't finding any tutorials. Firstly, what do you want to make transparent?
The best way to make something appear transparent is lowering the layer's opacity (at this point if you don't know wtf i'm talking about, than you best pay attention) Each new image should be on its own LAYER. That way you can easily adjust opacity and thus make it look transparent. The second way to make something look transparent is to use the eraser tool with a very soft brush, than fade parts out of it. Its very simple to do fading or transparencies. Don't sweat it. I did the below in about five minutes (ago) and i'm dead tired, and didn't apply much detail, its just a quick example, hope it helps.

If the engine appears stretched in the photo that is because it is. I did not have 2 shots (1 with hood open and one w/o) and i was too lazy to make it proportional. Its just for educational purposes hehe.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
two original pictures, then made 10 degrees of
opacity/transparency on the hood. Then I put it
all together in flash. I could have done it much
easier with 2 pics, but since I had already made
the buttons and assigned the actions, I just went
with it. Then I decided to crop and resize the
pics cuz the whole thing ended up being over 1 mb.
Oh well.
Once I get a sunny day and my car clean, I'm going
to go ahead with my plan and do a walkaround of
the car in flash.
Thanks for the positive feedback!

I wouldn't even think of trying the flash but I would like to do a shot of my hood transparent like that and maybe a door to look inside.
