Default Hydro Dipping Question

So maybe I'm a retard or maybe not. I'm not real familiar with the whole hydro dipping stuff or how it handles heat, but I had this crazy idea and I figure I'd throw it out there. Could you have headers dipped? My shotgun is dipped and during duck season the barrel definitely sees it fair share of heat. Still looks good. So would it hold up to header temps? I doubt it. But I figure someone else would know better than me.

That's interesting they hydro dip intakes but they don't get as hot as headers that would look pretty cool with flames or something

i dont think it would just because it sees constant heat all the time. plus, it would be pretty damn expensive

Carbon Fiber headers would look sick. I just dont think it would hold up that well. I wish someone could give me a for sure answer but I doubt anyone has ever done this. And it would be pretty fricken expensive to just test out. Haha.

It may be possible for CF Headers... Expensive as can be, though.

I've seen a bunch of turbo piping in CF, but am not sure how well it held up.

from someone whos personally seen the process done... it would be damn near impossible to get the pattern to contour right. To many twists and angles... Heat wise i dont think it would hold up either

Thats another issue I thought about. I know a little about the process, but not alot. And from what I do understand, it seems like doing headers would be damn near impossible.

I doubt it. it would be like setting up your shot gun to fire in fully auto mode, with about 1000 rounds fired over and over...that kind of heat.

Also some have used in on valve covers so it might have more heat tolerance than we think

No way. Hydro graphics are top coated with automotive clearcoat and at about 200 degrees you can say goodbye to your clear.
