I don't think it would look tacky, it might if the color didn't match up well though so its still kind of hard to say.
These emblems are sick, i need to figure out what to do with mine.

Formally Simplɘ Jack
The blue color on their site looks sort of baby blueish. I wonder if they're able to color the "1" navy blue instead of light to match my paint?

Tell me What your items are, and I will be more than happy to justify the cost.
All Onyx prices are based off of the mirror stainless prices, we only added the material increase to the items. This stuff is higher to buy, but extremely nice.
All mirror etched parts had to go through a price deduction, and a new figure was substituted for required Onyx etching time. The black stainless takes longer to etch. The coating is very tough and sometimes one pass doesn't do it properly. Hence, longer etching times.
Keep your eyes peeled at car shows we have sold quite a bit of it.
I expect that the sales will increase when people really see how nice it is.
Thanks, Roger

STAINLESS "TRIFECTA" BUNDLE $40.00 increase over mirror for the material and the extra etching time. More than fair. A lot of etching in this kit.
2x 'LAST OF THE BREED' FIREBIRD/TRANS AM EMBLEM STAINLESS STEEL
Again another fully etched item 10.00 more for the material increase and extra etching time. Also fair.
STAINLESS STEEL "TRANSAM" LOGO REAR LICENSE PLATE FRAME
We do not offer this in Onyx yet, but we can make them. It would be probably $7.00 more there is not a lot of etching on it.
so:
1) You have a lot of etched items here. There is cost in the etching process, plus the material increase. I would consider us experts at etching, and this stuff is tricky to work with. We basically scrapped a $800.00 sheet of this stuff "experimenting". Failed etches, scorch marks etc... We had to learn how to cut this stuff. "Average Laser guy" would not be able to do this without issues, and the company we bought it from did not even know if we could do it, and we showed them. It takes time, and time does add to cost.
2) The non etched items are lower in cost, but you obviously like the etched stuff better. I do not blame you it really looks nice.
3) If anyone else did sell these items they would be higher than we are right now with it. If you do not believe me: Price our regular items against our competitors and you will see we are less cost for a better product.
Just telling you how it is. If our secret where we buy this ever gets out, you will see I am telling you the truth.
That's the way it is. It is what it is.
4) We do not make any more profit on a onyx piece or a mirror peice. We do this to bring you guys nice things, and to increase our sales numbers "Numbers of pieces" not "Profit Per Piece". However, if we cannot recoup our costs for these items why even sell it? After we scrapped one sheet we bought another because we took a leap of faith it would sell. And it does. If we would have been wrong in our judgement, we would have eaten another $800.00. I would love to buy this material for less money, but it will not happen.
No offense taken from you, and none meant from me.
Thanks, Roger

Since these are approx. 1/8" thick, they can also be used as stand alone emblems. It is up to the customer, I have seen it both ways.
Thanks, Roger

And worth every penny.
I bought the trifecta and used them as overlays. When the doors get repainted, I'm going to get some different overlays from Roger and just put those on themselves.

Firehawk heat extractors?
Hi Roger,
I was wondering if there is any chance the onyx coating will crack when bending the Firehawk heat extractor grilles?
Oh, and by the way I didn't see these on your website. Are they available yet?
