To clarify, I used a joke to hook you into coming into the thread. Also I have done coil relocations on at least 3 other cars before so this isn't new. Every other time I put them under the cowl like everyone else does but this time, since they aren't very visibale, I used a joke to break the ice.

If you guys want, I can take more pics of it with the flash on to get some cleaner looking pics.

Looks good. I'd like to see more on how you did it and where there mounted. Looking at different options to possibly do this as a winter project.

So I got to work detailing the engine bay today plus I polished the throtle body. Lastly I took the cover off to show you how I mounted the coils. Enjoy.

Looks much better!
The smooth clean white eng bay made your eyes focus on the eng and though the lack of coils makes it look clean, you need some other visual mods. Consider polishing the valve covers or painting them black to blend with the intake and or offset all the white.

I like what you did with the fuse box.

Do you still have the bat up front?

No, it was impossible to keep the battery where it was to do this so I put it in the right rear trunk space where the spare was. Damn donut is useless on a lowered F-body anyway.

I planned on getting an LS6 intake and smoothing it like I usually do. This time I'm thinking high gloss black would look good but I'm afraid it may be over done.

I like the gunmetal wrinkle finish valve covers for now but I would like to go with some high rise ones. I've seen some on ebay for pretty cheap but don't know about the quality.

When I do the intake I will be getting the updated LS6 valley cover that has the oriface tube in there so I can 86 the pcv system. That will take the extra 2 hoses off the passenger side.

When I do the engine swap in the future I will be welding up all the seams on the shock towers and smothing it all out before repainting it with real automotive paint. That will pretty much do it under the hood for me. I like to keep it simple but some what stock looking. As if it were a GM speciality car that slipped out.

I'm in love with the concept. It gives it a more Old school look rather then High tech Mayhem. Great job.

Thanks guys.

The covers are held in place with 1 philips head screw in the far corner to help hide it.

wow those are the VERY FIRST engine bay covers I actually like. The others just look stupid how they are a flat piece but yours curve down and look great actually! I would have to say I have a pretty good eye for what looks good in an engine bay...

Bullshit, ..., , don't make excuses now, ...

Though the covers look good, ..., it sure could have had some better/more time spent in the weld/clean-up department.
And why the hell wouldn't you paint the covers & fender wells BEFORE installing the covers. The paint line, even tho you should NEVER see it once all installed again, ..., looks kinda ridiculous.

If you're going to spend time making something so important to your layout, then take your time & do it with more detail, & don't cut so many corners next time.

Paint line? That's the seam in the panel. Every F-Body had it. Besides, he said he was going to do a engine bay makeover when he has the engine out down the road.

PontiacFan...You have no clue who I am or what I've done in the past to LS1 stuff here. Look up some older post from me before you go spouting off at the mouth and calling bullshit on people. Oh, and I did paint them before putting them in the car. They remove with a screw so I can service stuff under there. Again, read and pay attention before you make yourself look ignorant yet again.

Normally I don't respond to comments like this but I feel you are the only one here who seems to have a problem with my work. There are plenty of threads here that I think just suck but keep my coments to myself. Like your mother said, or in this case should have told you, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Since everyone else here seems to be enjoying this thread this is the last I will respond to you. Hope you can learn something from this little life experience. Grow up.
