Another Painted LSX
I painted my LSX Intake Porsche's Black Satin Metallic. And I detailed the lettering with a "chrome" laquer. You can go to my website to see it. Sorry my dig camer sucks, but you'll get an idea. It does look better in person. I can't wait to get my red anodized Jantzer TB bolted on. The fun part will be making my Savage FRCs fit. Those runners are HUGE! Dremel me.....

Looks good! How hard was it to paint the lettering? That looks like it took some time. In a month or so, when I send my TB out to Jantzer for porting and polishing, I am going to have to take my intake off and paint it as well. I keep seeing you guys with these painted intakes, and now i'm jealous!
Good Job!

That is with 2 clear coats. A 3rd might have eliminated the grain completely (unless you're talking about the picture quality - that's my video cam taking dig stills) The lettering took me about 1/2 hour. I'm old so my hand shakes now.....

Looks nice, yea, I'm sure its the picture quality that makes it look like that, it happens w/my digital camcorder, but not my actual camera......

Candy apple, oooohhhhh....and I thought metallic was a lot of steps. Post pics!
It's the 78mm version. My motor is stock, so it's all I need. I hope to dyno next weekend.

Are you guys using high heat paint or regular and are you priming it first, please let me know how your doing it. I'm curious to the process because if I put the wrong paint on it will probably pell right off.

Thunder gave me a deal on mine. You should be able to get one for ~$800. Your setup could probably use the 90mm which is $100 more.
Painting plastic is a complex process. You need to wipe it down with a cleaner to get all the oils off. Then you apply stuff called Plas Stick to make the primer stick. Then you prime it. Then you paint it. Then You clear coat it (if desired). I used regular car paint. The plastic intakes don't get that hot.

The TB youre getting will look great on that intake. I have the same color tb with the chrome shaft and it looks killer on my car. If you want to see a pic, go to the sale and gp section and go to his gp tread. I have a pic on page 4 (I think its page 4). Ill send you my intake and you can do the same for mine.
