3M Compounds

3M Compounds I need to buy some 3M rubbing compounds and some plastic polish. I looked at some local parts stores and an AutoZone with no luck. Where can I get them? I think PepBoys might have them, but there isnt a PepBoys close by (Hey, Houston is huge).

I can't get them at autozone either, pep boys will for sure have it, if you can't get it directly I would order it online....
I use the 3M swirl mark remover for dark cars.......
Works wonders, I have never used a buffer w/it, but so far so good by hand....
Works well on the eyesores....

Can you find then at O'reilly? 3M list it on the website. There are about 4 O'Reillys between me and the closest PepBoys. I never though of going there. 3Ms site list lots of distributor, but doesnt say what they carry. I need some new wiper blades and lowbeams, so i'll just check O'Reilly and report back tom. Thanks

Okay, local O'reilly didnt have, nor did walmart. Walmart had Som 3M Rubbing compound, but not 39009 or 39010. The plastic polish I am guessing I probably am not going to find anywhere, so I am jsut gonna buy online. Anyone have any good experience with online auto care stores? Thanks,

BTW: I just washed my car and it looks so crappy. All you see are the swirl marks covering the car. Horrible. When I wax it it makes it even worse and it reflects light all over the place. Man I am not getting a black Z28 or TA. Its gonna be Pewter or Red.

Thanks. I got some order. I will post back the results in around a week. I hope it works, because right now I just let my car get dirty and it looks better that way.

Guys - using an orbital or dual action buffer won't burn your paint. You could stand on the thing for 10 minutes and it still wouldn't burn your paint. To get professional results you need to use a buffer. If you want to REMOVE and not cover-up your swirl marks, get an orbital buffer, some foam pads, and some polish (as usual I'm going to recommend Menzerna here, but if you want to try 3m or meguiars that's ok too), and have at it.
