hey man where did you get the strips you used around the edge?

Also, didnt mean to bash by saying i plan on making my own board....(if i do it)

only reason I am is typical led strips only use leds with around 8000 mcd with a 40 degree output, the leds i plan on using have a 100,000mcd 180 degree light output

i just wish distributors would list the specs of the leds used

(doesnt help that my tails are tinted)

Well that, and those strip LEDs usually don't last too long in harsh environments. It's kinda hit or miss.

i have had the strips in the front turn signals for about 2-3 years and had no problems as of yet. That is a reason that i went with this design again because it was so reliable with no failures

and for those who asked... it was a total of $80 to do just the brake light portion for the LED's, and the turn arrows were an additional $28 each with wiring on them. so all in all, with the LED's, wiring, epoxy, solder, silicone, and light bulbs to break... i have probably $150 in the rears without the cost of the brake light housings.

so that is a little less than the gay lights they have on ebay and i think they look 1000000 x's better... plus some ricer kid cant just slap these on his car

I did some SMD strips in my front signals about 6 months ago and they still work perfectly... They've been** through hot summer and pooring rain..

ya i like how these are rubber encased so it weather proofs the LEDs and also adds a level of shock protection to them as well. I just need to finish my new version of front turn signals and ill be done for a long while

Any updates on new style front ones?

I really like how you wire these up to a hardware of a broken bulb.

Even though a lil work is required, its alot better than splicing the wires and then have to worry about weather elements.

Go ahead dude... now that I look at them more, I prob could have took more time to make sure they were exactly even, but I was rushed getting ready to move just so I could throw them on there. Maybe even add another row or 2 for the brake lights to make them brighter....

And there is nothing new for the fronts... car is in a trailer in TX along with all the stuff for it and I'm in AZ for school until May. I will probably have them done sometime this summer when I get settled into my new house.
