Default Racing Seats?

Anyone running Jeg's or Summit brand drag seats? I am looking for more leg room, and want to ditch my heavy, electric leather seats.

Little input would be nice. I don't want Corbeau's or Cobra's. They are too damn tight for my girth. Hard to race when your kidney's are being pinched.
Being 6'4 and built like a Mack truck is a problem at times. The Jeg/Summit seats look pretty good, wide, thin and light. How bout a little input.

If your takling about the Summit racing seats (they come in red blue and black I believe) They are pretty uncomfortable, I'm 6'4" and thin. My buddy had them in his 79 Camaro, I don't think they lasted very long either.

I know you said you don't want Corbeaus but I would suggest looking into the Corbeau Targa RSs (TRSs).
They come in a wide version and a pretty comfortable. I am 6' 2" and about 270 and I fit in them fine.

I've got a feeling you're going to have a really hard time finding a racing seat to fit your size. I'm 6'7" and about 215lbs, and I don't even fit comfortably in a Momo Streetracer. Never installed it just for that reason. If you're a bigger guy, from the looks of the seats I've seen, the Corbeau's have had about the widest splay backrest design.

Only alternative would be having one customized. I think I've seen options for that on a few sites, but it's usually only for the higher dollar seats.

edit: bad grammar <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

I will check out the Targa's. Since I put the cage in the car has gotten a bit clausterphobic, I have a buddy that is a fabricator. I may tap him for a custom seat, and have a custom padded seat cover sewed together. I need a wide upper part for my shoulders, and the lumbar area needs to be wide enough for my 46" waist.

There just may be an untapped market for racers seats that are for bigger guys like us. I thought about removing the original leather seat taking it apart and have a custom back replace the original back. Something a bit thinner, to set the driver back another 2 inches or so, with notches for racing harnesses. Then recover the seat with a cooler fabric. Leather and Vinyl are too damn hot, when sitting in the staging lanes on a windless August day. Its worth a look.

Dude, you'll have no problem with the Corbeau Targa RS in the wide version. I'm 6-4 and 340 an fit in mine no problem at all. Theya re in fact quite roomy everywhere but where my LH thigh goes
when I hit the clutch, but even it got worn in and is fine now. They are a HUGE improvement over
stock and I don't think you'll regret them. The only downside is BLACK only unless you really want to cough up the $$$$$$$$$....

That is the most ecouraging thing I've read so far. I currently have Sparco Torino 2's in my car but it has a cage in it. Will those seats clear the cage as well in a wide version?
I'm the same size as you by BTW.

How are they in the legs? I wouldn't mind something in a less pronounced seat bolster. Do you know much of the LG1 Wide in comparison?
