Default Door Emblems

For the people who repainted your Trans Am door emblems, how did you reapply them?

i got a camaro myself, and have never done that. but i do auto body and its the same thing i do with moldings all the time. you will have to get some adhesive remover, and pour it on to the back of the emblem to get all the old glue off. you will be there for a few minutes peeling it off. it sux, but its all you can do really. then you will have to buy some 3m two-sided tape, and slap it on the back of the emblam. use a razor blade to cut off any tape you may see. hope this help. good luck

Griffz28350, do you think that the 2 sided tape will hold as well as the glue originally on there? I have seen people have bad luck using 2 sided tape, but they may have did poor prep work. Thanks, I will try that but some sort of liquid would probably be easier than to dice up all those little pieces needed to put each letter back on.

Why don't you just go to your local Pontiac dealer and order a new set. They come in all of the trans am colors and have an adhesive backing so they go on straight. Only cost around $40 i think....correct me if im wrong

I am going to get new ones from the dealer, but when I finish preping my fuel rail covers I plan on using my old emblems on the FRC.

I know 3M makes a spray adhesive. you could try that. im not sure if it will stick well, if the temp. get too hot. its worth a shot. and for the two sided tape, most likely, like you said, the pieces were just not prepped well. ALL of the old glue has got to be off, before putting the new glue/tape on. again, good luck with that

If you're going to just glue them on your FRC's, then why not try crazy glue?
