Default Where can I get decals for calipers? Example: Camaro, SS, or Camaro SS?

Im looking into either powdercoating my stock calipers or converting to the ZO6 braking components. Ive seen some Camaro decals on calipers before and I was wondering where I can get them? Also, could I just use the ZO6 calipers alone so that I can skip the process of getting my stock ones powdercoated? I ask that because they are already red and I would save myself the time and risk of putting my stock ones through lots of heat and possibly having trouble with them because theyve be disassemble and reassembled. If you have any pics of the decals, please post them, thanks.

It says "SS" in three places on the car, sometimes all four sides. Why would you want SS on the calipers too? Way overkill!

The rear calipers are too small for any decals. Besides, GM only put them on the fronts for the Vettes.

You must get Mark's decals (from Afterthoughts Auto). They are top notch to say the least.

Another vote for Afterthoughts! Great company to do business with, excellent customer service, and they SPONSOR LS1Tech!

Link to decal ordering page!

These decals are fully GM Licensed too! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

And in reference to the "SS", IMHO it is overkill. How many "SS" need to be put on the car? You already should have one on each wheel, one on each front fender, one on the back, so at a minimum there a 7 "SS" on the car. But it only says "Camaro" once.

The Camaro decals alone will be just fine, I just thought Id ask about the ones that say Camaro SS because I saw them. I probably will go with the ones from Afterthoughts Auto, but I hope that theyre better quality than the chrome grill insert for the scoop. Thanks

About the scoop insert... Have you ever had any contact with Afterthoughts? Their customer service is outstanding. Why don't you let her know that you're unhappy with the finish on yours. Maybe she'll exchange it. You may have gotten a bad one. It's amazing what some well spoken communication and a "please - thank you" can do.

NO, you can not use vette calipers inplace of your fbody ones.. you need an adaptor bracket. Also the ZO6 calipers are the SAME as the regular vette ones but they are powder painted red.

I had my rear calipers powder painted and it was no big deal.. just order the caliper rebuild kits from GM and its easy.. You have to dissasemble the calipers to have them powdered.. I also had mine polished first then powder painted to they are smooth and oh so glossy.. let me know if you have more questions..

Thanks Steve, I sent you a PM the other day, but you never got back with me. Anyhow, I found one place that sold ZO6 calipers and man...theyre expensive. So I think that Im just going to stick with powdercoating my stock ones. However, I dont know how to disassemble them. Do you have any sites or how to write ups on how to disassemble and reassemble brake calipers? Also, do you have the part number on those rebuild kits? I ask that because I called my local dealer and they told me that they dont list any rebuild kit, the only thing that comes up for calipers were the seals and whatnot. It was like $12 each for the front and $10 each for the rear. Im not sure if thats the exact pricing, but its close. But it didnt list in their computer as a rebuild kit. Are you having any problems whatsoever that you took them apart, put them through heat, and put them back together? Thanks alot for your help.
