Default "Burning" Question - Cigarette Lighter

Hi All,

Ok -- I am slowly fixin' and restoring things on my 2001 FireHawk. Just fixed the power antenna and ordered factory GM floor mats to replace my worn out ones.

Anyway......

The vehicle has the Ebony interior -- like many other cars -- and it is missing the factory cigarette lighter ! I don't smoke, but that missing piece in my dash is drivin' me nuts !

I see BOTH Gray and Black lighters available on eBay and even had one parts place tell me that ONLY Gray lighters were used in 2001

So -- with an eBony interior -- which GM factory lighter is correct for a 2001 Trans Am FireHawk ?

Inquisitive minds want to know !

Thanks for answering my "burning" question

Bob

My 2000 has a grey one with the ebony interior. No clue if its factory original or not though.

Default Looks like Gray is often used !

Hi All,

Thanks for feedback !

It is looking like GRAY is used with Ebony interiors -- From looking at the two responses I have so far.

I'll see if I get any more feedback and perhaps some from a 2001 owner. Maybe what the used-part vendor told me wasn't BS -- in that GRAY IS correct for this car.

Thanks again !

Bob

iv personally never seen any other color used besides gray. not saying they dont exist but iv always seen gray, whether the interior is black, char-coal, ebony, or that ugly gray-ish cloth.

I have a 2001 Z28 with ebony interior and I'm like 90% sure the lighter is gray.

I think the T/A's came with the grey lighter, it matches the color of the steering wheel controls.

The Camaro's came with the black lighter.

I say this because my car came with a grey lighter and I recently picked up a M6 console out of a 2001 Camaro SS and it came with a black lighter.

Yep, it's a gray lighter for your Bird. Here is an excerpt from the factory manual:
