Nice setup 99Bluez, I hate the factory wheel, might as well put a tractor wheel on our cars (oh wait they did lol). Mine, the leather gets sticky when it gets hot and is a deteriorating pile of crap every time i put my hands on it. The airbag is a bunch of 12 year old chemicals waiting to explode into my face when someone taps my bumper at 30mph so not much of a fan about that either. I need to get on this wheel replacing bandwagon already. I think i'll get a grant wheel, some of those seem to fit the factory look a bit more.

Is there a way to keep steering wheel radio buttons? Is there a wheel that has them integrated?

Thanks for any help, been looking to change my steering wheel for a while but haven't had much luck with researching the hubs. Seems like some people get the Momo hub to fit without modification and others have to have it modified/machined. Thanks!!!
Just the outer ring of the adapter base was machined down 5/16", the center section is NOT touched at all.
FYI, the base is hollow except the center and the outer diameter/ring.

The machine shop I went to charged me $20 and that was only because I had them take off 1/8" at a time. That way I made sure I removed only what I need. I installed, and removed the adapter 3 times right outside the shop, so I didn't have to make any return trips.

Not that I'm aware of, but I could be wrong .

Okay so does anyone have one of the NRG quick release hubs, If so how do you like it?
Especially if you have the short/thin #SRK400.

Hey Frank,

I used the Sparco adapter. That being said it wasnt easy. I had too actually cut the column plastic back some to make it work.

The Sparco adapter doesnt go into the column like the momo. It ends up being flush with the column.

If you need anymore info just pm me. You can check the install thread for some of the problems I had.

Now that its done I cant believe how much better the car feels to drive.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you but it sure is nice to have a wheel again that allows a clear easy view of the IC, without making you feel like you're having to look around a big obstruction, and the stiffer wheel seems to allow better road feel, plus it looks good in the process!

Those all look nice, but I love the whole in the center/bottom of the wheel for cruising. one of my favorite thing about our F-body interiors.

How is the suade holding up for you? I have been considering a suede steering wheel for a while but I'm worried it wear quick and look like crap.

Yeah that whole airbag thing scares the crap out of me,even on a hard launch i think its going to go off,i got rearended a few weeks ago and was so thankful it didnt need to go off,not alot of damage to the car but i didnt need my face broke to go with it,a wheel in this cars makes such a improvement, gives it way more of a vette feel

I bet an aftermarket wheel would be awesome...can imagine if you got hurt in a crash your insurance company would not be kind to you. You would be paying your own med bills.
