Polishing How To?
Are the parts clearcoated? If so you have to strip them first.
Scotchbrite pads or steel wool work well, go from course to fine then finish out with a buffing pad or terry cloth (old socks turned inside out work great).
Get a good polish. You want something that is liquid and better in a 2 stage system (course then fine) such as Blingmaster or Adams. Some good single stage polishes are White Diamond, Blue Magic, etc...liquid petroleum distillate type products. Some people also swear by Mother's pastes but I find they take too much effort to remove compared to a good liquid.
Avoid these like the plague, they don't work for **** (might be mediocre at maintaining an already polished finish): Never Dull, Eagle 1 Nano polish, Meguires Hot Rims paste

Just fyi my father recently polished some coated c5 y2k wheels and we found the napa brand paint striper to work the best. It bubbled up the clear nicely but it also dried it out so it would come off easier. He just sprayed the wheels off with a hose.
