honestly the tail lights/nostrils/spoiler are the key things that made me want one of these bad *** toys...i would not change the tail lights at all...i am glad this is the one car no one has modified the tailights and made gay *** euros or stupid reproductions that look like ****...im not trying to hate camaro owners but, honestly the euro tail lights i see from time to time just down grade the car and makes it look less classy/sporty and more redneck or ricer. Buuuuuuuut having the option there would still be nice...bc always having a choice to go from class to ugly, or ugly to class would still be cool...i just dont want "the last of the breeds" to look ugly, or diformed like that one trans am that was on ebay with all of those ugly ground effects and front and rear bumper with those 22 inch ugly rims.... its like taking a 73 1/2 trans am and shitting on it...nuff said

I will find a way to get these some how or another. I have to much stuff to do to the car before I blow a few hundred on tail lights to rip apart. But it WILL be done !

I'd love to be able to have that when I add my 6LE Diffuser!

Here is a cutaway showing why you can't just sand down the red:

The truth hurts, doesn't it... Only way I could see around this is to have an aftermarket automotive lighting company like DEPO copy a stock reflector + lens and tweak it into a totally new product.

Too bad the clear would be too thin to sand the red/black out and polish, and stick a vinyl sticker cut honeycomb with a plotter on the inside :'(

I don't think anyone thought you couldn't just "remove the red part"?? The only way to do it is form clear lenses that we can see....

I just wish we could get an actual answer on this from someone.

Would making a clear panel or lense, be just like the few on here that have made their own tail light filler panels? Same process or is that completely different?

There seems to be some very innovative people on here, surely someone can make a lense cover. Wouldnt mind seeing something different.

It's completely different. Tail light filler panels are just pieces of cheap acrylic heated up to match the curve of the filler panel. You can't do that with these tail lights due to the compound shapes, edges, and seams that need to be made (if you're going for a copy of stock with the rounded reverse light dome).

Seems like someone could make a mold, pour in clear resin, paint the honeycomb on, then clue the front part to the stock rear.

Or get a vendor to do a set of these.

IMO standard red and clear would sell very well, and it would bring the cost down on the OEM sets that are out there.

Yeah I'm not seeing where someone just can't make it and then glue it onto the lights just like the stock ones are...? That is how people reattach their lights when taking them apart for whatever reasons, correct?

And that being said, what could also happen is someone creates a bolt in/screw in design for it that is even easier and just has something to seal it.

That being said, there are probably less than a handful of people that have successfully taken apart their tail lights and put them back together, even less that have done it without the assembly leaking and letting water/moisture get in. It's not something that will sell very much due to the difficulty involved, hence why no vendors have stepped up to make just the outer lenses.

Looking at the pic you posted again, it does look pretty broke from taking it apart.

Would be cool for diff. options though.

eh.. more money to spend on go fast then.

http://www.ls1lt1.com/forum/4th-gen-...amp-rehab.html

It can be done without breaking, and it doesn't look super hard.
