Carbon Fiber on 4th gens

It depends on what you want to do, and how much. I just wanted something that would be a little different from others without going crazy. And YES, I thought about doing the side mirrors, but decided that THAT would be going too far.
Don't have a pic of the rear bumper between taillights yet.

I personally like CF, but as stated, it must be tasteful. Being a ZR1 fan, I like the use of CF on the lower portion of the car and am considering something similar on my 4th gen (6LE splitter to start and sail panel). I also have CF valve covers which are much lighter than the stockers and look great at the same time.
Honestly the rice arguement applies to everyone's individual taste. I wouldn't do a bare CF hood, but I would consider one like the ZR1, CF but the top is painted and underside is bare. As for interior, I like the true CF pieces, not the wrap stuff and only small amounts - I absolutely HATE painted interior parts
I have a white car so I think the contrast is nice, plus you really don't know its CF until you get close, it's all in what details you like. So for exterior, I would add splitter and side rocker skirts (similar to ZR1) and possibly the 6LE rear valance for dual exhaust tips in CF + sail panel. Just my $0.02.

I like it in moderate quantities. I have a carbon fiber SS hood waiting to go on my car. My car is NBM and i plan on painting the hood all except for the manta. In the end after god knows how much work there will be no transition from the blue to the CF. I think it will look good and give it that "whoa theres something different about that car" look I want. besides, have you picked up a steel hood then picked up a carbon fiber one? Nice chunk of weight savings. I figure it will turn out pretty well considering I traded an ebay sunoco hood + painting it for the CF SS hood.

Guess I'm going to **** off all kinds of people when I have my car repainted and add carbon fiber stripes.
Just debating colors between medium blue metallics and gunmetals. Either way I want to lay factory SS style stripes in carbon fiber vinyl before final clear coat.

The reason ppl dislike CF I think is because how its been displayed on RICERS cars, Why I hated CF at first. If put in the right place and on the right color car looks great. I also didn't care for black rims but now see how they change the look of a car and make it look MEAN.

I tend not to like appearance only mods especially covering an existing part in CF for the sole purpose of display. A new CF part to save weight for example is fine by me but I'll probably paint it if it's a body panel or similar.

I like little touches of unpainted carbon fiber if it fits. However if you use real carbon fiber doors, hoods, fenders, trunks, etc but paint it then go right ahead. At a car show saturday there was a black c3 with carbon fiber stripes with red pinstripe on the edges and I thought it looked pretty good

I agree with Technical. Covering up something with vinyl carbon print or covering up something with an actual carbon fiber print isnt really that cool.
Make an actual carbon fiber part to replace a plastic/steel part though and thats awesome. Not sure if it looks good on these cars but it doesnt matter what I think about your car - its your car, do what you want with it.
Like dat CF dash - thats sexy.

Has anybody ever done the whole body of an F-body with carbon fiber? Real carbon fiber body parts that is, not wrap. I'm guessing not because I don't think anyone makes the doors and some of the other panels in carbon fiber. I know you can get a complete body in fiberglass, but that's for drag only cars really.

i like little things like carbon fiber mirrors but im not a big fan of carbon fiber hoods or trunks i had a 2006 mustang with a carbon fiber hood it was cool the first week but after that i wasnt a big fan of it, and noone in my area could paint carbon fiber for a decent price
