Cigarette lighter pushed through console
Cigarette lighter pushed through console I have a 1997 Trans am which has the updated console that is identical to the ones that came in the early LS1 cars. The top of the console is one piece. When I bought the car the cigarette lighter was pushed through and now there is a hole there. I dont need the lighter, it is just pushed under the dash currently. I may run an electrc cutout switch off of it one day but Ill probably mount that in the ashtray.
I dont want to spend over $100 for another console. Im sure Im not the only one this has happend to so show me some creative ways to fix this. Ive thought about trying to cut it out and put a small gauge there. Ill take a picture tomorrow in day light to show you guys what Im working with.
Any ideas?

Hollo, The height of my shifter and my big hand would completely block any type of shift light there. Also theres really not enough room for any type of a gauge there neither. Im thinking of installing a fan switch there not. I hope I can find some type of switch that will fit in the hole but still cover up where its cracked.
