The latching mechanisms are as follows...
1) Factory t-top latches WITH weatherstripping, interior pieces, etc...
2) My center bracket (replaces t-top center bracket)...
3) For extra safety and even better fitment Jerry added these...
Crap, I can't find the pic... Basically a slider you can get at the hardware store. He bolted them to a piece of flat aluminum stock and then bonded the aluminum to the targa (underside). You drill a couple holes into the lip of the metal roof for them to slide into, add a rubber gromet and done.
He is currently adding his own headliner material...
ALL OF THIS WAS DONE BY AVERAGE CAR GUYS OVER BEER IN A BACK YARD. My point being you do NOT need bodywork knowledge to install this...
The fiberglass one yes, it requires fit, sanding and painting. CF is ready to go just takes patience and ingenuity.
We don't pat ourselves on the back a whole lot at 6LE but I have to say, looking at this piece just from a F-Body enthusiast's stand point, WE'RE AWESOME !!! When else in the past decade has anyone put the time into coming out with such an updated piece for our cars?
Thanks to McNord for making this piece happen with his skills ! Him and I put a lot of work in getting this made, yeah it takes a little work on your part to make perfect but good Lord I'd say it is more than worth it...
