Default Restore interior or exterior??

Both show 14 years of ware and tare. I'm restoring my '98 SS back to like new condition. Should I do the interior first or the exterior?? It's one or the other 'till next the following year.

Well you see the interior every day while driving and other people see the exterior every day while driving.

Do you care more about what you see or what people think?

That's a good question. I think I care more about what people think since people see more of the outside anyways.

I did this to my car recently.

Had to car detailed by a professional.

I attacked the interior and did a color swap, seats, etc.

Next year ill have it painted.

Interior would be my choice. I think it will make you enjoy the car more and it will help resale more than the exhaust will.

I would do whichever one looks the most worn first I guess. If they are even I'd do exterior first but that's just because to me a little wear on the inside doesn't bother me as much.

Interior, get interior done first. There is still a good amount of nice interior pieces out there for stock replacements if you hit the sale section on here. But how much longer will that last? You can always take care of exterior stuff. I have a feeling over the next few years finding stock interior pieces that are in mint condition is gonna become a needle in a haystack event. I could be wrong but these cars are getting old & there arent any companies making new interior panels as replacements.

What exactly are your goals for the exterior/interior? I know you used the term "restore", but do you intend on literally restoring it? Or upgrading it? In other words, stock parts? Or aftermarket?

take out interior, do exterior done, do interior. Exterior work can really do a number on an interior.

Interior first. You want to be comfortable in your car. Paint is expensive, vinyl and carpet is cheap. After you get the interior done, get the car professionally detailed to hold you until you can afford paint/body work.

I would do interior first, but keep in mind IF the exterior is to change in color make choices that compliment the the interior.

Interior first...mint or sometimes even "very good" condition parts arent just the easiest thing to find and as years go by they will get harder. Exterior second because paint will always be around. LOL

Godfather thought he was talking about exhaust lol, i would do ext first, you should really post a pic of ext and int to get better feedback, you would be shocked what a great detailer can do in and out of your ride

I would do the interior. I did the ext on mine first and everytime i drive it i just want to rip out every last bit of the interior...
