Default pin-on hoods

I love the look of the hood pins, and since i'm thinking of getting a ws6 hood some time soon I was leaning in this direction. Can't beat cheaper, lighter, and the nice look. Since I have zero experience with anything but a standard bolt-on hood, I had a few quick questions.

1. Does the hood lift completely off, or is it still raised via the hydraulics while the pins just act as fasteners for the 'nose'?

2. Are these hoods weaker than a bolt-on hood?

3. Any issues with using a pin-on for a daily driven car?

Thanks in advance.

that's what i'm asking. does the hood need to be entirely removed every time, or does it lift on the stock hydraulics in the rear and only pin down in the front?

You can have it any way you want. Lift off,pin on w/latch,or like full stock. If it says it is bolt on it should be fine to keep the stock hyd. You can have stock everything and hood pins.

Would I have to order the bolt-on version and just convert the latch up front to pins, or could I just order the pin-on and convert that for usage with hydraulics? The reason I ask specifically is because it's a difference of a few hundred bucks in the end that I could toss towards something like a cam .

anyone use factory latches with a pin-on version of a hood? i've been trying to do a search and I found one or two people that claim to have done it but gave no info, and i've found a few people saying it can't be done without just ordering the bolt-on version and modifying it for pins. nobody out there with experience?

Cool, from the pics it looks like you're pinning the hood to the factory hinges. Is this correct? Will they still be functional so you can raise/lower the hood by the hinges if you want instead of removing it?

The hinges are off of a wrecked bird so they were bent and we had to bolt them together. I wouldnt rely on just the pins on the hinges. If you used the stock hinges you could leave the bolts in and open it regular or take the bolts out and lift it off.

Looks real nice. Are you sure the glass in the rear corners would be thick enough to bolt the hinges up though? I would think the bolts would pop through the top and be exposed.
