IMO the whistler mod in black looks great on these cars b/c the weather stripping is so gaudy that the black paint makes it blend in more with the rest of the headlight and the bumper. Doing this mod in any other color makes the black weather stripping stand out..

IMO... Whistler mods should be done on a matching car color..!!

Excatly like the c6's . They would look wierd ALL with black!

I been having mine red like it shows on my avatar for like 3 yrs.
Now i have painted my car.. and so my lights.

I sort of agree, BUT any color that is not black will make that weather stripping stand out, which is why it looks strange with any other color.. Our headlights just aren't as flush as C6 headlights to pull it off IMO

Part of me wishes there was a way to make them like most modern cars now, where the housing is fixed and the innards move inside for aiming. That would take some crazy fab skills though.

Alot of cars these days come with some sort of black headlight. That is why the whistlers look so good black. It looks more natural... Add a projector and you're golden like a shower.

Those projectors look odd in the stock housing. It must grow on you, or it look better in person because to me it just looks weird. How much does it improve your vision?

This is how I did mine, but on a black Z. I didn't realize until a few minutes ago that the "full" whistler mod includes the fluted area. Red there would just be too over the top for me.

I don't know, I mean, I did the face in red but not the ridges. I think it looks pretty good. I guess to do the full whistler in red doesn't look quite right.
